🍁🍂🍁🍂 Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! 🍁🍂🍁🍂 

This week the Grade 3's wrote their math and french literacy SLAs with the grade 4s writing previous years' versions alongside them. The grade 3 writing prompt was "My ideal day at school is..." and the grade 4s wrote about "If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go..." 

It seems like most of us want to snuggle our dogs and cats while eating pizza and cake at school. While playing Minecraft...and dodgeball...and wearing pyjamas. Sounds pretty fun to me!

We started SCIENCE this week!!!! We did a mini intro to Hearing and Sound (grade 3s) and Light and Shadows (grade 4s). Next week we are going to the coulee to experience all the sounds and sights that the land has to offer. Recordings and pictures will be taken as part of our Land Acknowledgement presentation for our Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 10th. Below are some brainstorms of what we might find in the coulee:

Salut! Thank you to all those who came out to parent-teacher conferences last week - it was wonderful to get to chat with all of you about your students' learning and progress. We had a very exciting week this week! You may have heard about the Top Secret Mission that Mme Devitt tasked us with.... She asked our to class create a Kindness/Wellness Board for the whole school! Students wrote some thoughtful, kind, and supportive messages on sticky notes and posted them to a "Take One, Share One, Leave One" board. Students were SO excited to be doing this awesome project for the school. Check it out on our school's twitter account!   We are continuing to work on literacy stations in our class in both French and English. Gymnastics, Multiplication, Friends!!

Hello! Bienvenue! Welcome back! I'm happy you're here to catch up on what's been going on in RL3 this week.  We have been continuing our work with multiplication.  In gym we have been having a blast working through stations in gymnastics! Check out some photos below: In Science the grade 3's have started learning about rocks and minerals while the Grade 4's have started learning about waste and our environment. Here are the students making pastel volcanoes for art! I can't wait to see the finished product! Conferences are on Thursday the 10th and Friday the 11th. See you there!

A few more activities in our busy grade 3/4 class

Happy Mother's day ! A few more memories of the Coulee visits this year.  On May 4th we went to the Coulee and the children discovered the joy of land art.  This taking things found on the forest floor or stream and creating art!   Some creative writing combined with art, using adjectives in both French and English! Still working on our Ukrainian eggs when we have a little extra time!!!  Watching our bean seeds germinate and grow!
