 Hello everyone! Welcome back to our classroom blog!

These past few weeks have been very fun and very busy.

In math, we learned how to tell time by reading a clock! We learned about both the 12h clock and the 24h clock and how to calculate elapsed time! We are currently learning about how to calculate perimeter.

In Social studies we are continuing our research about Alberta (grade 4s) and Tunisia, Ukraine, Peru, and India (grade 3s). 

On Tuesday we had the privilege of working with Calgary-based artist Sabine Lecorre-Moore. She showed us how to paint with watercolours! Students each created two paintings - one of the Albertan Boreal Forest and the other of whatever they wanted. We then presented our artwork to the entire school during our Tuscany Together on Thursday! Here are some pictures for you:














We have also been playing "Wordle" each day - both in English and French! It's been a very fun activity to do during snack time. 

Next week we begin our DrumFit unit in gym. Exciting!

Salut! Thank you to all those who came out to parent-teacher conferences last week - it was wonderful to get to chat with all of you about your students' learning and progress. We had a very exciting week this week! You may have heard about the Top Secret Mission that Mme Devitt tasked us with.... She asked our to class create a Kindness/Wellness Board for the whole school! Students wrote some thoughtful, kind, and supportive messages on sticky notes and posted them to a "Take One, Share One, Leave One" board. Students were SO excited to be doing this awesome project for the school. Check it out on our school's twitter account!   We are continuing to work on literacy stations in our class in both French and English. Gymnastics, Multiplication, Friends!!

Hello! Bienvenue! Welcome back! I'm happy you're here to catch up on what's been going on in RL3 this week.  We have been continuing our work with multiplication.  In gym we have been having a blast working through stations in gymnastics! Check out some photos below: In Science the grade 3's have started learning about rocks and minerals while the Grade 4's have started learning about waste and our environment. Here are the students making pastel volcanoes for art! I can't wait to see the finished product! Conferences are on Thursday the 10th and Friday the 11th. See you there!

A few more activities in our busy grade 3/4 class

Happy Mother's day ! A few more memories of the Coulee visits this year.  On May 4th we went to the Coulee and the children discovered the joy of land art.  This taking things found on the forest floor or stream and creating art!   Some creative writing combined with art, using adjectives in both French and English! Still working on our Ukrainian eggs when we have a little extra time!!!  Watching our bean seeds germinate and grow!
